Salutation

1:1 From Paul, ¹  an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, to the church of God that is in Corinth, ²  with all the saints who are in all Achaia. ³

2 Korintus 12:14

12:14 Look, for the third time I am ready to come to you, and I will not be a burden to you, because I do not want your possessions, but you. For children should not have ¹¹  to save up for their parents, but parents for their children.

2 Korintus 12:18

12:18 I urged Titus to visit you ¹²  and I sent our ¹³  brother along with him. Titus did not take advantage of you, did he? ¹⁴  Did we not conduct ourselves in the same spirit? Did we not behave in the same way? ¹⁵ 

2 Korintus 13:2

13:2 I said before when I was present the second time and now, though absent, I say again to those who sinned previously and to all the rest, that if I come again, I will not spare anyone, ¹⁶

[5:1]  ⁴ sn The expression the tent we live in refers to “our earthly house, our body.” Paul uses the metaphor of the physical body as a house or tent, the residence of the immaterial part of a person.

[9:9]  ⁷ sn He in the quotation refers to the righteous person.

Paul’s point is that he and Titus have conducted themselves in the same way toward the Corinthians. If Titus did not take advantage of the Corinthians, then neither did Paul.
